African breakout stars Davido, Tiwa Savage, and Mr Eazi are the cover stars from Billboard’s May 2020 edition.
In the issue tagged Africa Now the three joined Billboard for a video conference to speak candidly about the opportunities African artists now have, the stereotypes they still face and how they’re staying true to their culture.
For the cover photos, Davido and Tiwa Savage showed off some uber-cool Nigerian brands. Styled by Daniel Obasi, Tiwa wore a mixed print crystal-embellished power jacket, the same one Issa Rae wore on a recent episode of Insecure. In another photo, she changed to a slinky midi dress from Lisa Folawiyo‘s Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
Davido was sporty in a matching multicoloured set from Orange Culture’s Autumn/Winter 2020 collection and for a solo shot, wore a Cuban style shirt from I.N official.
While Mr Eazi was a delight wearing striking looks London-based designers.
