Hi BellaStylistas! It’s Isoken and every month, I’ll be sharing a short letter spotlighting our monthly theme from my personal perspective and giving you an idea of some of the amazing content we have planned. For September, our theme is #FilmAndTelevision.

Editor-At-Large Isoken Ogiemwonyi introduces the BellaNaija Style’s #FilmAndTelevision theme for September.

Welcome to September!

Fashion is not only an art in and of itself, it’s also inextricably linked to all other creative and cultural arts: none more than TV and film.

It’s imperative for me to always feel passionate about the ways in which we cover fashion, celebrities, and culture. And nothing excites me more than the fresh new talent in Nigeria, on the continent and the diaspora.

Unbelievably, 2019 is coming to a close , and with it comes the start of arguably, the most fecund season for arts and creativity in Nigeria and around the world. In London, New York, Paris and Milan Fashion Week season has begun, as well as the new seasons of the opera, ballet and theatre. In  Toronto we look forward to both Toronto Fashion Week and Toronto International Film Festival and the storied Venice Film Festival is just winding down- and of course in October and November we look forward to ArtXLagos, Lagos Fashion Week, GTB Fashion Weekend and some of the biggest launches in beauty, books and theatre.

So is it a surprise that we look forward to and celebrate this time of year?

In this issue we celebrate the undeniable link between fashion, television and film. From bright new stars to the most exciting new launches in television and film in Nigeria, on the continent and the diaspora, we are excited to explore this and everything between!

And finally, don’t forget to explore our regular features like Best Dressed of the Week, Ankara Styles We Love, Best Beauty Instagrams of the Week, Workwear Looks our Editors Love, fan favourite BellaStylista, Style Your Curves and Friday Fab Finds.

Have a great month!

Love,
