It gives me great pride to dress such strong women in Tanzania.
Why did you start your line ?
An Nisa was established in March 2012 in an attempt to cater for modest women. During this time I began wearing a hijab and found it challenging to be stylish and modest due to the lack of options.
Who is your favourite celebrity to dress and what celebrity or influencer is on your wish list
Jacqueline Mengi and Jokate [Mwegelo] are two people I really admire for their hard work and focus in life. It gives me great pride to dress such strong women in Tanzania. On an international level I would love to work with Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar. A woman of class and elegance with the perfect sense of fashion.
Who is the An Nisa woman?
Strong, powerful and believes in herself. A woman who respects herself, who spreads warmth wherever she goes.
Where do you get style inspiration?
Travelling is a key inspiration for me. A lot of my collections arise from from visiting different cultures, studying the different prints and colours that surround a place.
… An Nisa is not just for Muslim women who cover but for women in general who want to feel luxurious.
How would you describe your label?
Fun, young & classy. Most importantly An Nisa is not just for Muslim women who cover but for women in general who want to feel luxurious.
