Her Royal Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, the Wife of the Olu of Warri, is known for exclusively wearing Nigerian designs. As the wife of a traditional ruler, she often attends events in the most beautiful and regal traditional attire, all made by Nigerian designers.

Her makeup artist, Ronaldthe7th, recently shared insights into the Olori’s love of promoting Nigerian designers:

Olori constantly says, “I’m wearing a Nigerian designer; one day the world will catch up.’ She’d never worn any of the French fashion houses on global stages, and that gave me another level of respect for this queen. And when I tell you, heads turn (because why not)! Everyone tries to ask her aides, ‘Who is she wearing?’, steadily putting Nigerian designers on the global map.”

Olori’s commitment to raising the flag of the excellent artistry and creativity of Nigerian fashion can be seen in the choice of designers she favours whenever she has an event. They include Tubo for her excellent corsetry, jackets, and two-piece sets which the Olori loves; Banke Kuku for the flowery, free designs that aid movement; Hudayya for their gorgeous abayas and flowing, regal dresses; Oyin Lewis; and Avenga for their beautiful Ankara designs
