Lagos Fashion Week 2019 has officially come to an end and whatever new trends you’re looking for; fashion or beauty – the runways and daring street style is where to get all the inspo for next season.

This season, we spotted a good number of beauty trends; bedazzled lips, over the brow eye-liner, and much more – but one hair style BellaStylistas couldn’t get enough of was the ponytail. From day 1 at The Fashion Business Series dinner when we saw a Princess Jasmine inpired ponytail, until the final day of LFWNG, the hairstyle was seen on the runway during the Emmy Kasbit and DZYN shows and on street style stars.

We noticed a change in the classic hairdo at fashion week, ponytails were no longer just the boring “pull your hair back in a scrunchy” style – there were accessories on them, braided, beaded and chic red carpet approved lengthy styles and more

In our pre-fashion week interview with Celebrity Hairstylist Royce Samuel of Ceezys Styling, he predicted the style will be in trend this season. Now, post fashion week, he reveals that he was behind most of the pony styles we saw at fashion week.

I started pushing the pony trend since 2018, when I styled Cee C of BBNaija with a low pony style and saw how classic the style was. Then I kept on pushing it, also did a couple of ponytails for campaign shoots and more – it flatters all face shapes and can be styled with any hair texture, so why not.

Fast forward to fashion week, I collaborated with some influencers and celebrities to create different pony styles, because my signature ponytail is to always add a twist to the styles and that is why I call them the #CSPony – I see it as a luxury pony tail, not the regular styles.
