At Sandton City’s Diamond Walk last night, South Africa’s young and fabulous celebrities gathered for the SA Style Awards 2017. Here’s a little catch up on what our BellaStylistas in South Africa got up to over the weekend.

Winners for the night included Dineo Moeketsi and Solo as Most Stylish Couple, Loot Love for Most Innovative Style, Ayanda Thabethe as Most Stylish Media Personality (she also takes our best dresses award for the night), Thembisa Mdoda as Most Stylish Performing Artist in Film or TV while stylist and blogger Kefilwe Mabote got The Next Big Thing/Style in the City award.

The Ladies

Feminine colours and a surprise skirt suit. Ayanda’s blush dress by one of our favourite South African designers Gert-Johan Coetzee was breathtaking, she’s definitely our best-dressed girl for the night. Vanessa Carreira-Coutroulis also wore a Gert piece for the night but she went red hot with her high slit dress and a crimson pout to complete her look.

Keaby Mashugane also looked lovely in a blush dress with romantic layers on her Quiteria & George dress. Our surprise look for the night was definitely Kopano Mocwane in a plum skirt suit by She Is Tailored. We especially love her shoe choice of floral print, high heeled pumps.

In a sea of blue, Thembisa Mdoda definitely brought home the romance in this Theodorah Zulu piece with cascading, tulle layers in a blue ombré colour effect. She’s photographed here with Basetsana Kumalo also in a blue, sequin Gavin Rajah piece which also features the ombré colour effect and a batwing sleeve.

Bedazzled Whites

Lots of whites and lots of sparkles, Ayanda Thabethe and Loot Love looked fabulous and fresh in their white outfits with the former in Gert-Johan Coetzee and the latter in a Rubicon Clothing piece with a sexy cutout. Kefilwe Mabote gave us head to toe sparkle in a La Manche dress and Amanda du-Pont looked so glam in a white Anel Botha dress with fringe sleeves and a peek-a-boo bodice.

The Gents

The gentlemen were well represented with two looks from either side of the style spectrum. Alexander Rawhani also known as Dr Smile went bold with his look in a 3 piece printed Raphaël Mukendi suit. Mthoko Mkhathini, on the other hand, kept it simple with neutral colours and pencil cut pants. The talented designer, Gert himself wore a neutral suit with pink flowers on his lapel, definitely our best-dressed man of the night!

Couple of the Night

Most stylish couple of the year, Dineo Moeketsi & Solo both wore Quiteria & George, matching in black and gold looking regal as king and queen of the night. Dineo completed her look with red glossy lips and bold gold shoes.

Beauty Looks

Pinks and peaches, Keaby Mashugane’s blunt relaxed bob and makeup look done by Makeup by Esme perfectly matched her outfit for the night. Her nails were also neutral with a pinky nude lacquer to complete her look.

Ayanda Thabethe’s makeup Lungile Thabethe was all about the eyes. Her Bambi inspired look featured lash maximalism, nude lips and super lined eyes. Her hair by Liyanda was pulled up in a multi-layered bun and worked perfectly to highlight her beautiful face. A fresh white manicure never goes out of style and we’re loving Ayanda’s manicure, we’re tempted to follow suit.

Amanda du-Pont‘s makeup was by Benazir Akbar, it was all about the power brows and cascading, curly locs. Bold enough for a strong brow? Try this look with neutral lips like she’s done here if you’re a power-brow first timer! Don’t underestimate the power of a girly, pink manicure, Amanda’s nails are definitely poppin’ with her’s.
