From Nkwo to Style Temple, literary giant Chimamanda Adichie’s Project Wear Nigerian has led to us simultaneously discovering and falling in love with new indigenous fashion brands as well fawning over the more stylish side of the writer, activist and feminist.

In today’s BN Collection to Closet, we have the rather stylish novelist who we spotted in a piece from womenswear brand Nola Black while she attended the Everybody Reads program held in Portland, Oregon last month.

Nola Black

The button down monochrome shirt dress which Chimamanda sports is from the brand’s Spring/Summer 19 collection titled The Skin Under and has interesting subtle details which helps it all come together. Subtle and not-so subtle details like it’s small pleats, bishop sleeves and puffy buttons that makes it al the more fashionable. Chimamanda then finishes the ensemble with a pair of opaque tights and glossy black ankle boot heels nailing the monochrome chic look!
