It has been fun all the way this week in Ghana as a number of celebrities including Idris Elba, Anthony Anderson, Rosario Dawson, Boris Kodjoe, Bozoma Saint John and more arrive in the country to celebrate the inaugural Full Circle Festival!

The festival which aims at showing off the beauty of Africa is chaired by The Office of His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo and presented by the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Business Development and the Office of Diaspora Affairs.

The intention of the weeklong event is to honour ancestry by celebrating the heritage and generational legacy.

Celebrating the ancient dances of the Akan people with adowa at Kakum National Park (alongside my sister @luvalovelight); reliving ancient horrors of the transatlantic slave trade at Cape Coast Castle; creating a powerful bond with friends and family in our Full Circle Festival as we walked hallowed ground… I feel proud of our resilience as a people in the diaspora. Whether taken from these shores in violence or in pursuit of dreams, our connection to this soil is irrevocable. The ones who perpetrated the crime of stripping us from our dances, building a chasm so we’d never find our way back, and planting seeds of division amongst us so we’d never be powerful as united people…Here’s to claiming victory today!! #FullCircleFestival2018 #YearOfReturn
