Negative body image has become increasingly prevalent among women in recent years, often leading to a lack of self-love. Over time, this can damage self-confidence and self-esteem, leading to low achievement and women not living up to their full potential.

True confidence can never be attained without first loving yourself. And that starts with the body that your Heavenly Father gave you. See your body as a vehicle that takes you to your destination in life. A faulty vehicle, that is, one that you do not like, will not be able to move you confidently to achieving your goals and dreams in life.

Today, I will share three easy ways to start loving yourself unconditionally.

  1. Practice Positive Self Body Talk

You can start by saying something positive about your body every morning in the mirror, especially when getting dressed. I used to not like my body, just like most of us. The more I looked at myself in the mirror, the more negative thoughts flooded my mind. Especially after becoming a mom, this affected my self-esteem and confidence. But when I fully understood the meaning of the phrase “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he,” I knew the cause of all my troubles. I had to do things a little differently. I started saying positive things about myself, focusing on what I wanted, not what I didn’t like about my body. And somehow, things started to change.

  1. Unfollow, Block, or Mute on Social Media

Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). The same Bible also says, “You were fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalms 139:14). If you always feel less of yourself after seeing certain people on social media or in person, the best thing to do is stay away from them. Especially if they make you speak negatively about yourself and your appearance. Guard your heart, sis! Unfollow, block, or mute anyone who makes you question yourself. It has really helped me to love myself and live more! You should try it.

3. Spend Quality Time on Yourself

Imagine you just bought your new favourite car. How would you take care of it? That’s how you should be taking care of yourself from now on. Be intentional with your body and self-care. Develop a skincare routine, take vitamins, exercise, eat right, drink lots of water, take showers twice daily, etc. The more time and energy you spend taking care of yourself, the more your value rises and the more you will love your body.

Conclusion

Self-love is a journey, not a destination. It takes time, effort, and consistency. But it’s worth it. When you love yourself, you’re more confident, happier, and healthier. You’re also more likely to achieve your goals and live a fulfilling life.

So start today by incorporating some of these self-love practices into your routine. You won’t regret it!
