The team at Z Kitchen curated what could only be described as the quintessential Lagos mystery soirée, a trend we hope will catch on in the city where it feels like you know everyone and yet no one.
Dinner with Strangers is a dining concept introduced to Lagos by Z Kitchen; a high-end restaurant located in the heart of Victoria Island reputed for a variety of incredible dishes, a great selection of wines, a sophisticated audience and most importantly, courteous and impeccable customer service.
The exclusive and very private dinner brings together six strangers; all experts and leaders in their respective fields, who are strategically handpicked to dine together. The second edition of Dinner with Strangers took place on the 20th of June 2019.
Guests gathered at the Lagos restaurant Z Kitchen to join Chef Ziad and his wife for this intimate, celebratory dinner. The gathering fêted theme of the night was ‘Behind the Scenes & Around the World’, and featured a well-curated menu that linked the founders’ (Chef Ziad and his wife, Zeina) roots to all their travel experiences.
The menu consisted of a 4 impressive course meal which was prepared and presented by Chef Ziad himself.
Guests enjoyed delicious fare by Executive Chef Ziad — mezze , butterflied char-grilled grouper, cardamom spiced apple crumble. Hungry yet — while meeting new people and starting new conversations.
At Dinner with Strangers, the guests are exposed to a family-style dinner, where they get to share plates of food which in return, creates instant camaraderie and convivial ambience.
The night was full of laughter, meaningful conversation and most importantly great food; which is known to always bring smiles and memories to a person’s life! Not only did the dinner do that, it also made 6 total strangers become friends!
