BellaNaija Style delivered an enlightening experience via its digital summit, “Mapping Africa’s Fashion Future,” which went live on Saturday, August 8th.
The #BNSDigitalSummit panel session was moderated by BellaNaija Style’s Isoken Ogiemwonyi, Mary Edoro and Tobi Idowu, with fashion insiders such as Asanda Sizani, Bukky George Taylor, Dami Olukoya, Tosin Ogundadegbe, Yoanna Chikezie, Toni-Blaze and more who delivered insights on modern trends in media and the business of fashion, including planning, social media, internships, brand integrity, brand focus etc.
There is an increasing number of fashion education options but they tend to address technical deficiencies and there is still a fundamental gap in fashion business education outside of anecdotal experiences and fashion academies by more established designers. In this session, we will explore what the current landscape for fashion education is home and abroad, access to opportunities for emerging brands and what emerging brands should do to future proof their businesses.
