In a new interview with Essence magazine, afrobeat sensation, Tiwa Savage gets candid about working with Beyoncé in The Gift album, her definition of inner beauty and the products that keep her skin radiant all the time.

The singer who is currently making waves in the international music scene since the release of her single “49:99” and landing a feature on Beyoncé’s new album The Gift, says she is not letting go of her African roots anytime soon.

On Working With Beyoncé:

When I recorded that record, I knew it was special. I knew it had a high chance of making the album.

On Inner Beauty:

Real beauty comes from within. It’s what your heart is made up of. When you feel beautiful on the inside, people tend to see it manifest on the outside. When you are happy, it shows, and it’s also about how you treat people and how you make them feel. That’s my definition of beauty.

On Secret To Radiant Skin Tone:

Right now most of the products I’m loving are coming out of West Africa. I use original black soap from Ghana and natural shea butter to lotion my skin. I’m big on body treatments like scrubs and hammams (traditional Moroccan baths). I have them in Lagos quite regularly, and after the treatment, my skin feels like butter.
