Prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically among people of the same ethnic or racial group – Oxford dictionary.
The truth is colourism exists and is present in beauty standards and representation, from beauty products not catering to darker shades and music videos only making use of light skin girls to ridiculous and heartbreaking comments – our society is biased to the brighter complexions.
