Tracy Nwapa joined Nowe Isibor, Osas Ighodaro Ajibade, Toke Makinwa and more on the red carpet for the ‘Ocean’s 8’ Lagos premiere.

To naysayer’s who claimed the Met Gala Glam theme was an erroneous idea, Tracy’s look was a perfect response.

While most took a more abstract approach, more a ‘what would I wear to the Met Gala if I were invited?’ or very literal, going dressed in the theme from the most recent Met Gala: Heavenly Bodies and the Catholic Imagination – The beauty influencer and entrepreneur took a far more interesting approach, plumbing the Met Gala Theme archives and blending two themes – 2016’s Manus x Machina: Fashion in An Age of Technology and 2014’s China: Through The Looking Glass.

She cleverly interpreted one of her style icon’s best Met Gala looks paired with a headpiece that looks inspired by Rihanna’s from her incredible Met Gala turn by couturier Guo Pei.

On this occasion the interior designer behind Interior Culture by Obiageli opted for a silver sequinned dress with a cutout detail in front, silver iridescent pieces in her hair and eschewed a necklace for the same iridescent design on her neck.

The form fitting silhouette is expected, and head to toe sequins can be hard to pull off, but she did so with undeniable aplomb. Fashionably mismatched earrings, a silver top handle evening bag, glowy makeup and slicked back hair completed the look.

This was by far one of our best looks of the night, the shimmering sequins were a great choice and we love the obvious thought behind the look.
