Toke Makinwa stepped out in true #BabyGirlForLife fashion on the weekend. Ditching her typical athleisure (obviously) for the #Oceans8 premiere, she was in rare form in a pitch-black Orapeleng Modutle dress.
The author and entrepreneur worked every angle of this dramatic tulle and satin dress with a bold ‘faux tatouage lace’ effect and an embellished bodice.
One of the many reasons this was a total and complete shutdown look was the juxtaposition of the slightly gothic vibe with a sculptural, powerful elegance.
Her makeup was perfect as usual (by Anita Brows) and the commanding look was enhanced by the sweeping chin length veil on her intricate headpiece.
The Nigerian beauty dared to do what so few do these days, she took a risk. And boy, did it pay off! We also loved that she let the dress speak for itself and kept the accessories to a minimum.
