Nigerian fashion and tailoring house Samuel Cray, founded by Creative Director Oladipupo Olamide Samuel, is entering a new chapter with its latest collection, A Street Called Cray.

Founded in 2018 with roots in classic menswear, the brand has built its identity around bespoke craftsmanship, precise fit and a personal approach to tailoring. Over the years, its repertoire has expanded to include traditional attire, contemporary suits, wedding looks, occasion wear and womenswear.

Now, A Street Called Cray brings that evolution together across 15 looks, anchored by the campaign thought, “Made for You.”

At the heart of the collection is a simple idea: style should leave room for individuality. Rather than prescribing a single way to dress for an occasion, Samuel Cray explores how different personalities can interpret tailoring, classic suiting and contemporary fashion in their own way.

The collection moves between white wedding looks, contemporary formalwear for grooms, high-street bespoke suits and structured silhouettes across both menswear and womenswear. Box-cut construction, modern proportions and sharper experimentation sit alongside the craftsmanship and tailoring discipline that have defined the house from the beginning.

This balance between the familiar and the new is intentional. Samuel Cray is not moving away from the principles of tailoring that built the brand. Instead, it is exploring how those principles can evolve for a new generation of clients.

“A Street Called Cray is a reflection of individuality and how different personalities can coexist within the same space. I began to see the collection like a street, with each look representing its own house, distinct in character and personality while still belonging to the same design universe,” says Oladipupo Olamide Samuel, Creative Director and Founder of Samuel Cray.

From Classic Menswear to a Modern Fashion House

Samuel Cray began in 2018 with a focus on classic menswear. In February 2021, the brand opened its first flagship store in Yaba before relocating to its current flagship atelier in Osapa London, Lekki, in 2023.

Its work has since been worn by Nigerian personalities including Tobi Bakre, Buju, Zlatan, Taves, YKB, Lasisi Elenu, Mr Macaroni and Saga Adeolu. The brand has also been part of notable cultural moments, including Tobi Bakre’s 2023 AMVCA appearance in Samuel Cray, where he won Best Actor.

Its clientele extends beyond entertainment, with the fashion house also dressing members of traditional royalty, including the Oba of Oniru and the Queen of Oniru.

With A Street Called Cray, however, the brand is looking beyond individual celebrity moments and occasion dressing to define a broader fashion identity.

Made for You

The idea behind “Made for You” is rooted in personal expression. A wedding might call for classic formality for one client and something more unconventional for another. A suit can be understated or architectural. A woman might want strong, structured tailoring, while a man might choose the same approach.

What connects these choices is not simply the occasion, but the person wearing them.

For Samuel Cray, modern luxury should give the wearer space to remain recognisably themselves. The philosophy also reflects a wider approach to African luxury, one centred on craftsmanship, personal attention, cultural understanding and distinctive design.

With its Lagos flagship atelier and the ability to work with clients nationally and internationally through virtual consultations and remote measurements, Samuel Cray is expanding its fashion ecosystem, bringing bespoke tailoring, contemporary formalwear and emerging ready-to-wear ambitions under one identity.

A Street Called Cray is ultimately about individuality. It is not about dressing everyone the same way. It is about creating a Samuel Cray way for every person to dress like themselves.
