16 years on, the reins of the foremost national beauty pageant in Nigeria Miss Nigeria, has moved from Folio Communications to The Audrey Silva Company (TASC), owned by renowned actress/producer Rita Dominic and film director Mildred Okwo.

Rita Dominic will leverage her 25-year media & entertainment industry experience to lead Miss Nigeria on its mission to transition into an empowerment trust for young Nigerian women

The Miss Nigeria Pageant is a true representation of One Nigeria. The platform has over the years empowered young women from diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and religions, and I am proud of what my husband, Mr Fidelis Anosike, founder of Folio Communications and Publisher of Daily Times newspaper has done with the brand for 16 long years. I am pleased to announce that he is handing over the reins to me and partnering with TASC.

I have been on board with him for a couple of years watching and learning from him and others. I am eager for Miss Nigeria to move forward.

— Rita Dominic

The pageant will operate under a new entity Miss Nigeria 1957 Enterprises, with a new board of directors featuring accomplished leaders from various industries focused on maintaining the remarkable Miss Nigeria legacy and promoting female empowerment. This transition marks an exciting new phase for Miss Nigeria.

Speaking about this significant transition in the pageant’s history, Fidelis Anosike thanked the founders of Miss Nigeria and Chief Atinuke Oyelude, the 1st Miss Nigeria, who will be 93 on November 16th. He, however, feels that it is time for new leadership at Miss Nigeria and that TASC is the best organization to carry on the tradition.

Rita Dominic, my lovely wife, and The Audrey Silva Company are the best people to take it to the next level… She will make Nigeria proud and raise the bar for the pageant, I am convinced. With high hopes that the Miss Nigeria platform would evolve into a trust for the empowerment of young Nigerian women, we warmly welcome the Audrey Silva firm into the Miss Nigeria 1957 alliance.

Together with Mildred Okwo, with whom she co-founded the acclaimed production company TASC, well known for its high-quality material that covers films, television, and now pageant, Rita Dominic is expected to raise the status of the historic pageant.
