Olandria Carthen’s first trip to Lagos came with a major fashion moment: a Rolling Stone Africa cover, plenty of Nigerian designers and a vlog documenting it all. The Love Island USA breakout spent nearly a week in Lagos for her Rolling Stone Africa cover story, which celebrated her journey, growing global influence and connection to Africa.

Now, Olandria has given us a closer look at the experience through her vlog, taking viewers along for the fashion, culture and behind-the-scenes moments that made the trip memorable. And, of course, the fashion deserves its own conversation.

Olandria Carthen in Kilentar for RollingStone Africa

For the Rolling Stone Africa editorial, Olandria wore an impressive lineup of Nigerian designers, including Kilentar, Weiz Dhurm Franklyn and Lisa Folawiyo, among others. Her wardrobe moved between intricate detailing, bold silhouettes and contemporary interpretations of African fashion, making the shoot feel like a celebration of Nigerian design.

Kilentar brought its signature craftsmanship to the story, while Lisa Folawiyo delivered one of the standout moments in a look from her SS26 collection. The editorial also featured designs from several other African creatives, making the fashion story as globally minded as Olandria’s cover itself.

But the vlog goes beyond the photoshoot. Olandria also explored Lagos, including a visit to Nike Art Gallery, giving viewers a glimpse into the cultural side of her trip. Her Lagos experience also included time with Nigerian creatives and a visit to a school, where she connected with students and participated in a community initiative that included distributing more than 200 school bags and essential supplies.

For us, though, the real treat is seeing Olandria experience Lagos through fashion. From Nigerian designers to art, culture and the people she met along the way, the trip was more than a magazine cover shoot. It became a little fashion and culture diary of her first visit to the continent.

And now that we have the behind-the-scenes footage, BellaStylistas, it is time to revisit every look.
