1964, the remarkable women’s clothing brand dedicated to promoting wellness through fashion, is thrilled to announce the launch of its latest collection, Nostalgia. This collection marks the brand’s official return to the market, blending timeless designs with modern flair and celebrating the beauty found in simplicity.

Inspired by the simple joys of life, Nostalgia pays homage to cherished memories while embracing the essence of comfort and style. Each piece in the collection reflects the brand’s core values of promoting wellness and empowering women to feel confident in their clothing choices.

1964: a Nigerian-owned Toronto-based fashion and lifestyle brand promoting wellness through clothes for the modern woman.

A highlight of the “Nostalgia” collection is the collaboration with Grapes Pattern Bank, a Nigerian-owned print design company, to create custom prints that integrate elements of African culture.

The Ukiyo print features an African woman with an afro, her hairstyle embellished with talking drums, symbolizing serenity amidst chaos; while the EasePrint draws inspiration from the Yoruba tribal fabric Aso Oke, with the word “ease” woven into its intricate details.

Our mission at 1964 has always been to promote wellness through fashion and empower women to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.

With the Nostalgia collection, we aim to evoke the pleasurable feelings of returning to the simple joys of life while providing women with stylish and comfortable clothing options that resonate with their individuality.

In addition to promoting wellness, 1964 is committed to sustainability and ethical production practices. The brand sources locally produced fabrics to support a circular economy and minimize waste by batch-producing its products. Leftover fabrics and garments are upcycled into accessories and other garments, sold in the brand’s outlet store.

The Nostalgia collection has already garnered attention from industry leaders, with a debut at New York Fashion Week, in collaboration with Noir, at a private showroom event in February 2024.

As 1964 expands its presence in the United States, Canada, and Europe, the Nostalgia collection holds a promise of inclusivity and diversity, welcoming women of all ages, sizes, backgrounds, and cultures to find their style home.

The Nostalgia collection will be available for purchase on March 18 at www.the1964brand.com.
