Nigerian designers and couture makers were in their bag and truly shone as some of the best in the world at the recently concluded AMVCA. While the spotlight is usually on the people wearing the gorgeous gowns, these talented designers worked tirelessly, day and night, to ensure their clients looked their absolute finest. From conceptualisation to execution, their remarkable creativity is mind-blowing.

The AMVCA 2025 showcased incredible talent from Nigerian designers, and every outfit was commendable. We’re focusing on a few standout designers deserving of special accolades.:

The painstaking process involved in creating this dress resulted in something truly special. Each crystal was meticulously placed, and the dress’s structure, standing so majestically, blew our minds.

Elegante By Tiannah

Toyin Lawani’s dedication to sourcing and crafting a dress adorned with a million safety pins truly speaks volumes about her creativity and handwork.

Queen Mercy Atang was regal in that outfit. Toyin shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of this intricate process, and she undoubtedly deserves recognition for her artistry and hard work in making this dress.

It’s important to note that many other talented designers, in addition to those mentioned above, made masterpieces for the 11th edition of the AMVCA. Ultimately, Nigerian designers are building a reputation for creativity and style, and the world is watching and catching on. The sky is only the starting point for what they can achieve.
