Nigerian filmmaker Ifan Michael has created quite a niche for himself in the Nigerian entertainment space, starting as a stylist and further expanding to style consultation and public relations. It comes as no surprise that he’s venturing into fashion designing.

The Forbes Under 30 lister, known for his work in his multi-award-winning film Lotanna, unveiled his first collection on September 3, 2022, with an official announcement on his Instagram page.

Osho once said, “Creativity is the greatest rebellion in existence.” As controversial as he was, I find those words of his to be absolutely true.

My journey into fashion is indeed a rebellious story. A story between me, beauty and style and my urge to express rebelliously through my art, to make a human being feel better about themselves through the way they look.

This is what has inspired my journey into fashion, first as a stylist, a style consultant and now as a fashion designer. It is with utmost pleasure that I announce my first collection in this new phase of my life as a fashion designer for the Big Brother Naija runway show “Confam Fashion,” which aired yesterday on the ongoing show.

For this collection, I collaborated with fashion designer @dwayneclearwaters and a team of resilient workers to pull this off. And I am happy with the quality of work we pulled off.

Thank you so much to everyone who trusted me with this and has helped unlocked this new phase of my life.

The collection, a high fashion interpretation of modern streetwear, was exhibited on the Pepsi Big Brother Naija runway show, tagged Confam Fashion, on the ongoing reality show. This is the first edition of the Pepsi runway show on the said platform.

The collection was designed in collaboration with Nigerian fashion designer Patrick Ophori. See all the sketch designs for the housemates below.
