If youre looking for a healthy snack, youre better off eating a pineapple. Other than being sweet and juicy, theyre low in calories and packed full of nutrition and antioxidants. Pineapples are rich in Vitamin C, Magnesium, Fibre, Vitamin B6, Copper, Potassium, and Iron amongst others.

Choosing the right pineapple is as simple as it gets. It needs to pass the smell test. A ripe pineapple will give a strong scent from where it is. You wont have to lift it up to your nose to know it is ripe.

Have you noticed that the top part of a pineapple is not as sweet as the rest? This is because pineapples have natural sugars settled at the bottom.

Heres a hack to get a sweeter pineapple. Remove the crown and store it upside-down for an hour or two before cutting it up. This will cause the settled sugar to become evenly distributed throughout the pineapple. And there you have it, a sweeter juicy pineapple.

Enjoy!
