Last weekend, BellaNaija marked 20 years of fashion, culture and storytelling with its anniversary party and Grand Red Carpet Experience. With a High Fashion Icon theme, the night brought together glamour, personality and a milestone moment for BellaNaija, as a trusted voice in pop culture.

And if you were wondering whether the fashionistas showed up accordingly, the answer was a resounding yes. They each brought their own interpretation of the theme to the occasion.

From carefully chosen accessories to details that transformed an entire silhouette, there was thought behind every look. From fascinators, intricate beading, and fabulous trains to dramatic sleeves, stylish embellishments all made their mark.

Check them out :

Fascinators

Headwear brought plenty of personality to the evening, with fascinators and hats giving BellaStylistas another way to make their looks feel considered from head to toe. Fascinators brought a touch of old-school glamour, while hats added structure and presence to the overall styling.

Whether perched above the shoulders or used to complement the proportions of an outfit, these pieces proved that what sits above the shoulders can be just as memorable as the outfit itself.

Dramatic and Voluminous Sleeves

Sleeves became a focal point in their own right, with voluminous shapes adding dimension to the outfits. From exaggerated proportions to sleeves that framed the shoulders and arms, this detail gave the silhouettes plenty of presence.

It was another example of how the construction of an outfit can do much of the styling work, turning a familiar silhouette into something far more memorable.

Whether delicate or more pronounced, they showed how decorative details can completely change the character of an outfit and give it a sense of personality.

Metallic Textures and Light-Catching Shimmer

Metallic textures and shimmer brought light-catching finishes to the evening, giving certain looks an almost luminous quality. From fabrics with a subtle sheen to surfaces that reflected the light more boldly, these details added another dimension to the outfits.

They also played beautifully with the setting, allowing the looks to shift as the light caught different textures and surfaces.

Statement Hats

Hats gave BellaStylistas another opportunity to make a look their own. More than an accessory, they could alter an outfit’s proportions and mood, becoming an integral part of the overall styling.

For some looks, the hat provided a polished finishing touch; for others, it became one of the first things you noticed.
