Two Nigerian fashion brands, Orange Culture and Fruché, are among the designers selected to compete for €25,000 grants as part of Berlin Contemporary, the flagship talent development programme of Berlin Fashion Week.
The brands are among 19 winning concepts chosen to present their collections during this season’s Berlin Fashion Week, where each selected designer receives €25,000 in funding to support the growth of their practice. They join an international cohort that includes Uganda’s Buzigahill, New York-based label BARRAGÁN, Germany’s Selva, GmbH, Andrej Gronau, John Lawrence Sullivan, and other emerging designers pushing the boundaries of fashion, sustainability, and cultural storytelling.

Berlin Contemporary has become one of Europe’s most influential platforms for independent fashion talent, offering designers not only financial support but also international exposure and access to key industry stakeholders.
The designers were selected by a jury of leading fashion professionals, which this year included Nigerian creative strategist, photographer, writer, and cultural commentator Eniafe Momodu. His appointment reflects the growing influence of African voices within global fashion institutions.
