Fashion brand IAMISIGO has unveiled its new collection for the Autumn/Winter 2021 season tagged White Gold.

According to the brand, the collection inspired by the most precious element on the planet, Salt.  The collection features striking pieces made with recycled materials and through highly sustainable practices including a recycled salt jute sack used to make a patchwork coat, a handmade mini bag made with calfskin, and another mini bag made with banana and palm raffia.

Natural dyes were also made use of for production; natural salt, hibiscus, charcoal, and walnut.

We are the salt of the earth.

Spiritually Salt, in whichever form, is intended to be an instrument of grace to preserve one from the corruption of evil occurring as sin, sickness, demonic influence, prevention of miscarriage, agricultural catastrophes, etc

Thus used non-superstitiously, modest amounts of salt may be sprinkled in one’s bedroom, or across thresholds to prevent burglary, in cars for safety, etc. A few grains in drinking water or used in cooking or as food seasoning often bring astonishing spiritual and physical benefits

The Palms are still considered sacred objects, assuring protection from malevolent forces. It is fascinating that ritual uses of palms are not only present in medicinal practices but in many other events practiced since time immemorial until today.

In Cameroon, fresh bud leaves of Raphia vinifera are still suspended as a curtain in the villages’ entrances to ward off the evil. In Benin a vodun Vo-sisa used to be placed opposite the house gates to defend the inhabitants from harm. In Benin and Togo, ill people carried twigs of Elaeis guineensis around the neck or arm to achieve invulnerability. Also in Ghana, the Akan burn inflorescences from Elaeis guineensis so the smoke drives away bad spirits. Raffia screens veil us with protection.
