Everyone wants to look their best, yet oftentimes, people do not know how to achieve this. Some believe you have to wear expensive clothes to look good and feel your best, but the real truth is that you do not necessarily have to spend a fortune on clothes to improve your looks and boost your confidence. One essential requirement is being more intentional with your personal style and you would be amazed at how it can positively affect your appearance and other areas of your life. If you are interested in learning how this can be achieved find below five (5) of my personal tips to help you achieve your desired results.

1. Follow fashion influencers and blogs on social media

This is often a great way to keep up with trends, see what people are wearing, how they are pairing outfits, matching colours, etc. The best platforms in achieving these are TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest.

2. Accessorize

For me, this is one of the most important tips in elevating your personal style because they definitely will make you look more attractive. Accessories range from bags, shoes, jewellery, scarfs, belts etc. but most importantly note that accessories have to been combined rightly otherwise you become even less striking.

3. Get a good tailor (A dress that fits properly is a must)

It is the most dramatic improvement you can make in your style. You don’t want the waist of your pants sitting wrongly or the length of your pants dragging making you uncomfortable, but with a good tailor, that perfect fit can be achieved.

4. Wear clothes that flatter your body

Your comfort and the way you feel about an outfit is sure to affect the way you carry yourself and how you would be perceived. Mastering clothes that flatter your body should be your priority at this point as it would provide better clarity in buying and putting pieces together, thus ultimately building your style confidence.

5. Keep it simple

Less they say is more, consider a simple approach when you are just starting off. Try not to wear too many colours, wear simple jewellery and makeup, essentially be comfortable with a few simple looks before you go bold.

6. Bonus Tip: Get yourself a Stylist

The role of a stylist here is to teach you how to pull outfits together, dress your body type, wardrobe management, and ultimately help you make good fashion choices.
