Since the live shows kicked off a few weeks ago, Nigerian Idol has dominated conversations on social media. The contestants have brought their A-game over the weeks with power-packed performances and vocal dexterity. But as note-worthy as the performances have been. It hasn’t been the only thing that the contestants have brought to the show this season. Each week, they have outdone themselves with their individual styles to suit whatever the theme of the week may be.

As the show draws close to an end, here’s a look at some unforgettable fashion moments the top 5 contestants have served us on the Nigerian Idol live shows.

Akunna

This 23-year-old lawyer is a superstar, and she dresses the part and carries herself like one. Akunna always understands the assignment when it comes to fashion. It’s hard to pick a favourite look of hers because if we’re being honest, it’s been hits back to back. , But, let’s take a look at her two best looks from the show.

Dressed in a sequined red jumpsuit with a big cape, Akunna dazzled through the stage with her hair styled in a twisted high ponytail. She accessorised with silver hoop earrings to finish the look. Did I hear someone say Oscar red carpet worthy? Well yeah, this is by far one of her best looks on the show.

You can hardly ever go wrong with African prints. Akunna did this statement justice when she showed up on stage in an Ankara multicoloured blazer and leather boots to match. She accessorised this with a silver and black belly belt and finished up with green braids. Edgy!

Francis

One thing we love about Francis is the versatility of his hairstyles. That alone will make you want to keep dreadlocks. Lol.

So far on the show, our best look has to be the one where he looked like an English man from ‘Peaky Blinders’, without the hat, though. He wore a trench coat with a scarf tied around his neck. And his hair packed to the back. He finished this with a bumblebee brooch on his collar. He definitely ate this look!

If you’re a fan of street style, then you’d absolutely love this look as much as we do. Francis wore a black and white striped coat jacket and a white buttoned-down white shirt to show off his chest. And of course what is a street style without a nice pair of ripped jeans? He put his dreads in cornrows to finish off the look.

Faith Jason

Faith has never missed. One of his best looks so far on the show was when he wore a burnt orange two-piece attire with a colourful African print design that fell over his shoulders. He finished up the look with coffee brown Chelsea boots. Sartorial elegance!

Not that many guys can pull off a mesh top but Faith absolutely did this one. He wore the black mesh top underneath a black roadman jacket with shiny straight pants and white shoes to match.

Kingdom

Kingdom’s style so far has been very laid back, but we love that about him. One of his best looks on the show was when he channelled his inner Fela with a buttoned-down red print vintage shirt and cropped flare pants. He accessorised this look with traditional beads. We absolutely can’t stop obsessing over this look because it brought Kingdom a little out of his comfort zone, and we are all for that!

Another look Kingdom pulled off was the black wrap blazer and straight pant trousers, which he paired with a white turtleneck shirt. This gave him a slick vibe we were absolutely digging. We can’t wait to see more of his fits in the coming weeks.

Comfort

Seeing how beautiful she has grown in fashion and composure, we couldn’t be more proud of Comfort. She came on the show spotting a haircut and a timid tomboyish look, but she has grown and totally transformed over the weeks. Embracing her curves in flattering outfits and going bold with her hairstyles.

Comfort doesn’t have to do too much because her smile is always the best look but her outfits have been equally banging.

For the Afrobeat-themed episode, she looked regal and chic in a purple Ankara corset ball dress that had frills layered around it. She paired this with matching Ankara anklets and put her hair in an afro pigtail. Just stunning!

Another look we absolutely loved was the silver sequin mono strap dress which she paired with silver accessories with her hair styled in a ponytail.
