This week has been filled with so many emotions, I’ve cried, I’ve prayed, I’ve meditated and I’ve had to pinch myself 1000 times to make sure I’m not dreaming and that it’s all real ? I have a shop! I am shook! I am filled with joy. Being fat and loving fashion has always been so tricky, I have mall anxiety, I don’t know how many times I’ve been in a fitting room holding something I love, that’s supposedly in my size but doesn’t fit, that added to my insecurities because brands have a way of making you feel that something is wrong with your body & there’s this culture of “I’ll lose weight until it fits me” because the fashion industry is not inclusive and diverse when it comes to sizing, so it’s always been a dream of mine to create a safe space for big women to come in, try on stylish clothes that don’t make them feel like they have to lose weight first before enjoying fashion like everyone else and guess what? My dream has come true. I remember 3 years ago, Bex came to my house and said “LETS MAKE CLOTHES FOR PLUS SIZE WOMEN” and I laughed, I thought it was crazy, at that time I was a student and had little money and it just seemed so scary (they say you’re not dreaming big enough if your own dreams don’t scare you), but Bex @rebeccagarande believed in this so much and we actually just did it, we literally took all our savings money to invest in a business we weren’t sure would succeed, 4 years down the line we have our own shop ?? it’s been a crazy journey filled with tears, sweat, hard work and sleepless nights but it’s all been worth it! Never ever give up on your dreams, anything is possible under the sun. I bless the day God brought you into my life Bex, without you and your passion for @lee_bex we wouldn’t be here. I love you with all my heart. And to each and everyone who has supported us since day 1, THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! ???omg! Thank you!!!! Please come celebrate this milestone with us on Saturday as we launch our shop, it would mean everything to me! Once again, THANK YOU!!??‬
