Welcome to How To Do Date Night, a BellaNaijaStyle column that profiles your favourite digital influencers, celebrities and It Girls, their date night ready rituals  and the date night looks we can’t stop talking about.

Single and ready to mingle, in a long term relationship or marriage? Date night outfits can be a source of anxiety for many regardless of their marital status. With the added pressure of looking good for your man or yourself, whether that’s a first date or a bid to keep the spark alive, we’ve found a great way to stay ahead of the panic inducing ‘I have nothing to wear’ moment is to keep yourself inspired and even better, have a handful of ‘fashionable uniforms’ guaranteed to make you feel great regardless of where you’re going.

And as Instagram takes over as the top source of fashion inspiration, fashion influencers and content creators are a supremo source of daily style inspiration. Here we talk to Ghana-based fashion influencer, and the ultimate Accra fashion girl Afua Rida. She’s as well known for her amazing work on An African City as she is for her peerless Instagram feed; a seemingly constant stream of great shots indicative of her effortless aesthetic.

How would you describe your date night style?

Date night for me needs to be relaxing but fun! My dressing also reflects that. I’m ready for anything. My style is usually effortless, masculine chic. I hardly wear skirts or dresses. Slightly tomboyish but with with some feminine elements to it.

Go To Date Night Outfit?

I usually go for the effortless chic look. A loose fitted jumpsuit, shorts with an oversized jacket, palazzo pants and a body suit and a pair of heels. My makeup is usually very light with a great pop of colour on the lips.

Date Night Beauty Secrets/Rituals?

On a special date night, hair, nails and toes will be freshly done. I truly believe that if your manicure isn’t well done, then your outfit isn’t complete. You might as well stay home! haha! I might take the time to get my eyebrows freshly threaded.

What about hair—what’s your daytime hair routine like?

My hair is always brushed into a wrap at night so when I take it out during the day, I easily tease it into the style of choice with my fingers. If my ends are dry, I’ll add a bit of oil to it. When my hair is let down, I don’t brush it in any particular way. I just let do its thing.

Where do you go for date night look inspiration when you’re feeling ‘meh’?

My favorite influencers and super stylish women on social media  is where I go to be inspired. I love Song of Style, Lisa Folawiyo,  Ogo Offodile,  Happily Grey & Kahlana Barfield. you can get lots ideas from fashion magazines, e.g. Instyle Magazine.

Where do you go for outfit ideas? Would you rock any of these looks for date night?
