At Lagos Fashion Week 2026, the theme CRAFTED: Heritage. Innovation. Circular Futures. placed a spotlight on the techniques, materials and creative processes that give African fashion its character. Pepper Row‘s participation offered another opportunity to consider the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. The Nigerian label has built its identity around a neo-luxury approach to ready-to-wear, bringing together modern womenswear and techniques rooted in local craft.

Its design language is particularly interesting for the way it engages with artisans and traditional materials, including handwoven Aso Oke, hand-dyed batik and other craft-led details. These elements give Pepper Row’s work a distinctive character, allowing familiar techniques to find new expression in contemporary silhouettes. In a season that asked designers to think about how heritage can inform the future, Pepper Row’s approach felt especially relevant.
