You may know Seyi Shay for hits like ‘Crazy’ with Wizkid and ‘Murda’ –  but don’t be fooled by the sweet face and blase attitude – this star has just mined a new talent and we are thrilled to see what she has in store for us.

Luckily, we got to sit down with the breakout star and steal some time in her busy schedule for a one-on-one chat.    

In an exclusive interview with the songstress turned thespian, we chat about what to expect from the film, her contribution to the characters epic style and her favourite red carpet moment to date.

BNS:What was it about Lara & The Beat that made you want to be a part of the film?
The cast, the producers and the director

BNS: What’s your favourite memory from shooting Lara & the Beat?
The sense of family and just working in a new environment

BNS:Let’s talk about your amazing Lara & the Beat looks. Did you play a part in shaping Lara’s look?
I owe that all to Bella Adeleke who is actually also one of my personal stylists.

What can fans of Seyi Shay expect from Lara & the Beat?
A refreshingly new Side to me.

Everyone is buzzing about Vector and your on-set chemistry. What was it like working with him?
It was a pleasure he is an old friend and very hot so it was easy to play his love
interest.

BNS:Who are some of the females in this business who inspire you?
Omotola Jalade, Shaffy Bello, Chioma Akpotha, Glenn Close and Meryl Streep and Angela Bassett.

BNS: What has been your most memorable red carpet moment?

When I presented the Headies Awards earlier this year

BNS: What’s your stance on fashion? Is it a big part of your everyday life?
Fashion is what makes the industry go round

BNS: What is your fashion go-tos?
A little black dress

BNS:What song are you obsessed with right now?
I’m obsessed with my song ‘Surrender‘ featuring Kizz Daniel

BNS:A really great bag or really great shoes?

Really great shoes

BNS: Everyone sees this uber glammed up version of you on screen and on stage, but what about your style in real life?

I’m more comfortable being a plain Jane when I’m off stage and off camera.

BNS: Do you have any pre–red carpet beauty rituals?
A facial and a body scrub.

BNS:What are three beauty products you can’t live without?
Dr Jart Face masks, Water, Fenty Beauty

BNS: What’s your best-kept beauty secret or trick?
If I told you it would not be a secret anymore! [Laughs]
