For the 2025 cycle, Green Access explores how the continent’s rich heritage of craftsmanship can be reimagined as a tool for material innovation, youth development, and waste transformation,  not by closing the loop, but by keeping it open, adaptive, and regenerative.

This year, Green Access invites applicants to rethink the use of pre- and post-consumer textile waste not only as raw material, but as a design opportunity, one that taps into indigenous making practices, nurtures youth-driven micro-economies, and extends the life and value of materials through culture-rich processes of repair, reworking, and reinterpretation.

As part of the programme, the Green Access 2025 cohort participated in a one-week residency at The Nahous, an interdisciplinary creative space that fosters experimentation, collaboration, and sustainable innovation. Through the residency, each designer gained the freedom to explore new ideas, expand their techniques, and engage in meaningful dialogue about sustainability within Africa’s evolving fashion landscape.

The programme culminated in the presentation of their capsule collections during Lagos Fashion Week 2025, showcasing how creativity and responsibility can coexist in shaping the future of fashion. Meet the visionary designers shaping this year’s cohort:
