Issa Rae shines on the latest cover star of Rolling Stone‘s May 2021 issue.
The movie star has risen over the years due to her resilence and talent as well as how she is constantly celebrating and rooting for people of colour through her platform. Issa is one star who is always showing off her black heritage in the best ways possible, either by her stunning outfits or hairstyles.
According to the photographer who shot the photos following the interview,
(Issa) changed how Black women are represented in the media. We are three dimensional. We are thoughtful, educated, funny, sexy, trying to find ourselves, navigating the realities of success and failure, and not a white person’s sidekick or the first to die.
We agree. As usual, Issa looks radiant in the featured photos styled by Jason Rembert. Her gorgeous hair-do stands out the most all through the spread – styled perfectly in a curly blowout that was softly tinted with shades of brown. We can always expect natural hair inspiration from Issa and her latest look is definitely on our beauty moodboard.
