Update: Lagos Fashion Week to Hold Digital Presentations for “Woven Threads” Exhibition

From the 3rd to 26th of April, Lagos Fashion Week will present ‘Woven Threads’, a digital showcase inspired by traditional craft and the need to adopt a more responsible approach to producing fashion on the continent.

Due to recent events around the world, and new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria within the past week, Lagos Fashion Week has taken the decision to redesign the format of “Woven Threads”. These changes prioritise the health of all stakeholders and take into account best practices in health and social distancing guidelines suggested by the Federal and State government.

As a result of this, “Woven Threads” will solely be a digital presentation across our existing social platforms in order to eliminate the requirement for physical congregation and to enable remote participation for guests and facilitators. This will be combined with a series of digital live talks and workshops as our new Season 1 activation.

We believe that the current pandemic has given us time to slow down and reassess, not only the way we relate with each other, but it’s also helping us shape how we will be working on LagosFW going forward. Delivering the best possible experience is still paramount to us and we look forward to exploring the opportunities provided by digital technology in presenting fashion, starting with “Woven Threads”.
