From bags and slides to t-shirts and matching floral sets, Gucci‘s 2017 collections were the items style stars couldn’t get enough of in 2017.

According to this report by Lyst, the Italian heritage brand made the top spot as the most searched-for brand; its slogan T-shirt, and the GG belt were the most-desired items, and the brand’s maximalist styling inspiring a wave of searches for cheaper imitators.

When Alessandro Michele presented the Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer 2017 shows last year we were sure the memorable looks would go viral in 2017.

And we were right! In April, Rihanna set the pace when she wore the Swarovski crystal-emblazoned catsuit, complete with face-covering, branded vest, and denim booty shorts straight off the FW17 runway to Coachella.

In our timezone, Wizkid most recently broke the internet sporting a crystal embroidered ribbed sweater from the brand totally twinning with Jennifer Lopez who rocked the matching female set.

Similar to the internet-breaking Gucci sweatshirt and pants, Toke Makinwa, Bonang Matheba and HushPuppi had their own moment, when they all wore the same Flora Print Silk pajama set.

Toke convinced us this year that she’s a #GucciGirl, growing a covetable collection of bags, shoes, and dresses.

While fellow media IT girl Bonang, who already had enviable Gucci goodies received a surprise Gucci gift from musician AKA, who is also a fan. #BoyfriendGoals.

Luxury connoisseur Abiola Kola-Daisi got a similar version of the Silvie Shoulder bag, showing us just how Guccified she can be adding Gucci’s Oversize square-frame metal sunglasses to her look for an Instagram snap.

Never to be left out on what’s trendy, Instagram style stars Lisa Folawiyo and Tosin Adegbite were fit for a BN Pick Your Fave mashup when they both have styled very similar Embroidered and Printed Cotton Sweatshirts this year.

Quickly joining the #GucciGang before 2017 runs out, Davido made a statement with the Spring 2017 slogan t-shirt at the 30 Billion Concert. One of three Gucci outfit changes throughout his concert, the singer dressed his daughter in a jersey dress with Web and was later joined on stage by Wizkid who matched his fly with the GG intarsia cotton sweaterTechnical jersey jogging pant and Ace sneaker with GG print, D’banj wearing a Gucci Cotton polo with Web collar and Wool cropped pant with stripes. and Humblesmith in a Black Washed T-shirt with Gucci logo.

No statistics needed, this is proof enough that 2017 was the year of Gucci!
