Hi #BellaStylistas, we are excited to announce High Tea with BellaNaija Style – an exclusive event to close our BellaNaija Style Women’s Month 2022 activities!

Now in its second year, the BNS Women’s Month digital festival is known for celebrating women in the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industry who are game-changers and trailblazers. From the in-depth #BNSConvos to the amplification of female-led business through weekly Shoutouts – simply put, the four weeks in March were dedicated to women!.

The date for the closing event – a one-of-a-kind High Tea-themed soiree – is getting closer by the day and we have got some style tips for you. Before we get into the nitty-gritty of executing a flawless ensemble for the highly anticipated event, let’s briefly shed some light on what ‘High Tea‘ entails.

The term ‘High Tea‘ dates back to the mid-1800s when the seventh Duchess of Bedford requested that light sandwiches be brought to her in the late afternoon to satisfy her hunger during the long gap between lunch and dinner. Thereafter, she began asking others to join her and thus, the afternoon tea tradition began.

Now merging this dainty theme with our vibrant African style – what will guests wear?

Honestly, it’s not as intense as it seems. The dress code for a High Tea is similar to that of a brunch really, comfy style with a chic twist.  Think bright or pastel colours, not just in dresses but in suits, jumpsuits or simply a blazer for that extra touch of polish, plus fabulous accessories to elevate your look.

Challenge yourself to go out of your comfort zone and shine brighter than you ever have with bold prints and extra bubbly colours. Also, please, let’s not overlook our comfort, loose stylish fits are welcome too so you’re comfortable enough to indulge in all the delicious treats and meals that will be available.

If you are attending, kindly scroll through the stunning photos below to get some inspiration for the day
