It’s only a few hours to the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2020 and the excitement is palpable. The AMVCA is one of the most anticipated events in Nigeria as filmmakers, actors, influencers and more bring their fashion A-game to the red carpet.

The internet is buzzing with style predictions for this year’s edition. Ahead, we had a chat with stylist Rhoda Ebun as she spills the tea on what to expect at this year’s show.

Which celebrities are you always eager to see on the red carpet?

Ini Dima-Okojie and Toni Tones, they always bring the WOW Factor on any red carpet.

Who will you be working with this year?

I will not be styling a celebrity this year BUT I will be styling a highly placed individual in charge of AMVCA.

What are some of your red carpet style predictions for this year at the AMVCAs?

My Red carpet style predictions are volumes. So voluminous train, voluminous sleeves, voluminous fabrics and more.

What trends do you NOT want to see on the red carpet this year?

I definitely don’t want to see sequins. Sad to say, that I will be seeing them none the less but I think most designers use sequins as a lazy choice for red carpet tailoring. There are other fabrics that can interpret nicely for grand events.

What are the secrets to a killer red carpet look?

  • Secrets to a killer red carpet look will be:
  • Dress for the body you have and not the body you think you have.
  • Drink enough water and moistures, it helps with your skins glow.
  • Be mindful that you wear colors that compliment your skin.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Accessorize moderately & avoid overkills.

The 7th Edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards will hold on Saturday, 14th March and will air LIVE from 4pm on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv.
