Christian Dior perfumes and related beauty products have been in the market in Kenya and other African countries for years. No dedicated Dior shop has opened so far in Kenya, but the brand stocks in leading beauty stores around the country.

This past weekend, Dior decided that it was time to call more attention to its presence in the country by throwing a lavish cocktail party for the top players in the Kenyan beauty industry at the Exclusive Capital Club in Nairobi, where the guests got to interact with Dior beauty experts and sample some of the brand’s products, some of which were even new to the Kenyan market. This was Dior’s first such launch party on the continent, but the intention is to repeat it in other major countries including Nigeria, South Africa and Morocco.

Dior combined the launch effort with a focus on the ongoing Dior Love Chain campaign by raising the question “What would you do for love?”

Visit #DiorLoveChain and watch some of the contributions – sometimes moving, sometimes surprising or funny, but always from the heart. You can also join the Dior Love Chain by sharing your creative photo/video answers using the hashtag #DiorLoveChain. And for each post Dior perfumes will donate 1$ to the charity @wemovement in partnership with Natalie Portman, who is also the face of the campaign.

As a Kenyan BellaStylista myself, I was more than happy to take over the @bellanaijastyle Instagram page for the Dior Beauty launch event. Check it out with these hashtags; #BNSinNairobi and #SilviaNxBNS.

For my look, I went for a slightly formal but trendy look wearing a Ghanaian brand @divadeliciousgh whom I recently discovered and love; my hair was by @makeupcloudeke and the makeup was by @phoinatosha. Vote for me as Fashion Blogg/Writer of the year, here.

The launch party attracted a select group of Kenyan fashionistas and beauty lovers who came dressed to impress, ready to mingle and enjoy a fabulous night. The crème -de-la-crème of the Kenyan beauty industry, as well as popular TV personalities and other VIPs, were in attendance like former model Hanako Takaishi, beauty entrepreneur Zara Jamila, TV presenter Karen KarimiSonia Pinto, Miss World Kenya 2016 Evelyn NjambiRenee Odera, Gaylyne Ayugi, Publicist Lucia Musau, Dior Beauty PR Coordinator Remi Mobolade, actress Serah Ndanu Teshna, model Susan Kaittany, luxury fashion blogger Sonal Mahelari and beauty blogger Nancie Mwai.
