Lawyer, entrepreneur and fashion influencer, Chioma Ikokwu hosted top celebrities, notable fashion designers and fashion influencers to an exciting celebration of fashion and philanthropy on 20 December, 2023 at RJ4, Victoria Island Lagos. The dynamic entrepreneur dazzled in an elegant black dress by Weizdhurm Franklyn to launch new fashion collections for her business, Chioma’s Closet. An initiative she launched to empower the less privileged by selling her pre-loved fashion items with 50% of the proceeds going to her self-funded non-profit, The Good Way Foundation.
Chioma popularly known as Chioma GoodHair organized the fashion event by collaborating with notable Nigerian fashion brands such as Imad Eduso, Amy Aghomi, Wanni Fuga, Hertunba, Weizdhurm Franklyn, LFJ Official and DNA by Iconic Invanity to give fashion and philanthropy centre stage.
During a fireside chat, Latasha Lagos had an insightful conversation with Chioma Ikokwu, Founder/CEO, of Chioma’s Closet about the purpose of establishing Chioma’s Closet and the brand’s values spanning around elegance, luxury, philanthropy, and compassion. Chioma also expressed her appreciation of her team’s passion and relentless dedication to helping her achieve her goal of empowering the less privileged and encouraged the guests to support The Good Way Foundation by shopping the pieces in the collection as a contribution to society. The conversation progressed into a fun giveaway competition awarding two guests with outfits.
Sponsored by the renowned brand, Champagne Laurent Perrier, the guests raised their glasses to a celebration of style with substance as a fashion runway show opened by well-crafted pieces and iconic designs by DNA by Iconic Invanity showcased a plethora of innovative and eccentric designs after which other designers in the order, Weizdhurm Franklyn, Wanni Fuga, Imad Eduso, Amy Aghomi, Hertunba and LFJ Official showcased the mesmerizing outfits in their collections.
One Charming Party created exquisite decoration, transforming the event venue into a captivating and stunning ambience. Cocktail and mocktail drinks by Quacktails were flowing for guests alongside delicious canapes, pasta, and jollof rice by Kewas Kitchen and Board Lagos to keep the celebratory atmosphere.
The host was the eccentric, captivating, and fashionable Denrele Edun. His presence at the event elevated the ambiance with fun and laughter. Emphasizing the purpose of the event, Denrele encouraged guests to shop the items in Chioma’s Closet collection as a support of the philanthropic efforts of Chioma Ikokwu as 50% of the proceeds will be donated to helping the less privileged through The Good Way Foundation.
With the good cheer of the star-studded guests, Chioma Ikokwu celebrated her Father’s support over the years and sang a hearty birthday song to him alongside her Mother who stunned in a piece by Nigerian fashion brand, Hertunba.
