The internet is buzzing with style predictions for this year’s edition of the AMVCAs, we sat down for a chat with stylist Moses Ebite of Moashy Styling as he spills the tea on what to expect from this year’s show.

When was your first time working for a client on the AMVCAs?
The first time was in 2016, and it was the MBGN 2012, Anna Banner.

Anna Banner

What was the experience like?
It was a great one, putting pieces together that suits her style and also in trying to make her look as elegant as expected of a Queen.

Can you tell us which celebrities you will be working with this year?
It won’t be exciting and worth looking forward to if it is not a surprise.

This year’s edition is not during the usual award season, do you think that will affect the colours and themes that celebrities will wear?
Well, goes to show that there are no rules in life, you wake up and do what you want to do. I’m hoping this creates an avenue for creativity and gives room to think outside the box. We easily get to see trendsetters from this.

Which celebrities’ look are you most excited to see this year?
I’m excited to see everyone coming with their A-game. When it comes to award shows, it is mandatory to come dressed up. Ties, dresses, shoes, heels, etc must be in full display.

What are your style predictions for this year’s edition?
Long trains, sheer, blinding accessories.

What are some things you do/don’t want to see on the Red Carpet this year?
To See: Suits, black ties, bow ties, heels, dresses, Ankara, socks,
Not See: Slippers, shorts, half done makeup, ugly suits.

The AMVCAs will hold on Saturday, 1st of September at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos and will air LIVE on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv.
