Model, advocate, and activist Adwoa Aboah joins Actor Gwendoline Christie, Musician Sam Smith and other celebrities on British GQ’s Heroes-themed cover spread.

Photographed by Buzz White, Adwoa rocks subtle but striking makeup in the black and white beauty shots; nude face accentuated by graphic black eyeliner and dramatic bottom lashes.

In the June issue, she tells GQ Heroes why giving help can be as valuable as seeking it. She also shared what the word “hero” means to her:

Someone who lives and breathes and loves everything that they do, and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks, and almost uses that as fuel to continue their journey of heroism.

Adwoa will also discuss mental health taboos and how she built her community at the GQ Heroes event at Soho Farmhouse this week.
