Wunmi Mosaku is British Vogue’s October cover star, and the actor is reflecting on a transformative year that saw her navigate one of Hollywood’s biggest awards seasons while pregnant. After announcing her pregnancy at the 2026 Golden Globes in a custom Matthew Reisman gown, Mosaku’s red carpet wardrobe became a lesson in dressing for glamour, comfort and a changing body.
The fact that she was pregnant throughout the awards season made her transformation into a bona fide Hollywood siren all the more remarkable. Red carpet dressing is rarely designed around a growing bump, and Mosaku has been candid about the physical demands of getting dressed for long awards nights.
“I was struggling with pain, stretching ligaments and exhaustion,” Mosaku says. “So making sure I could last the night was key. If I could wear my belly band under something, that was an added bonus…”
Her experience also made her think differently about how fashion approaches the female body.
“I really hope designers remain equally excited about dressing regular curves, not just pregnancy bumps,” she says.
It is a sentiment that feels particularly relevant given Mosaku’s own approach to maternity dressing. During the season, she worked with stylist Shameelah Hicks to find looks that prioritised comfort without feeling like traditional maternitywear. She described the philosophy simply as “fashion that happens to be pregnancy-friendly.”
That same fashion sensibility continues through her Vogue shoot, where Mosaku steps away from the red carpet and into a series of polished, fashion-forward looks.

Mosaku wears a fringed wool dress with satin Manolo Blahnik shoes, spiral earrings and a necklace by Alexis Bittar.

A faux-fur coat paired with spiral earrings brings a dose of old-school glamour to the shoot.

Mosaku appears in a Klein-blue Bottega Veneta look, bringing a striking hit of colour to the editorial.
Loewe
For another look, she wears a fringed leather coat by Loewe over a Kettlewell rollneck, with Snag tights and Heaven Mayhem enamel earrings. Her daughter joins her in a Trotters tutu dress and Bloch ballet shoes.
Prabal Gurung
The final look is a silk-faille gown by Prabal Gurung, finished with Alexis Bittar spiral earrings and a crystal flower brooch.
The shoot also features Mosaku alongside her mother, Irene, who wears a lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana with vintage 4element earrings, while Mosaku wears a Kettlewell rollneck and vintage Susan Caplan earrings.
For Mosaku, the Vogue story arrives after a year in which fashion became closely intertwined with her experience of motherhood. Her own clothing line, Iyadé, meaning “mother has arrived” in Yoruba, grew out of that experience and aims to create fashion-forward pieces for women whose bodies are changing through motherhood
