London Fashion Week SS27 is almost here, and African fashion is once again making its presence felt on one of the world’s biggest fashion stages.

This season, we’re keeping a particularly close eye on three designers: Mowalola, Onalaja and Tolu Coker, whose collections will bring distinctly different perspectives to the London Fashion Week schedule. From Mowalola’s boundary-pushing aesthetic to Onalaja’s sculptural glamour and Tolu Coker’s multidisciplinary approach to fashion, there is plenty to look forward to.

First up is Mowalola, whose SS27 catwalk is scheduled as an evening event during London Fashion Week. Known for her provocative, rebellious approach to fashion, the Nigerian-born designer has built a reputation for creating clothes that challenge convention and blur the lines between fashion, music and culture.

Then comes Onalaja, who will take to the runway on Sunday, September 20 at 6PM. The show marks another major moment for the Nigerian-founded label on the international fashion calendar, following its growing presence within the global fashion conversation.

Closing out our must-watch trio is Tolu Coker, presenting on Monday, September 21 at 12:30PM. The British-Nigerian designer, illustrator and multidisciplinary artist has become one of London’s exciting emerging names, with a practice shaped by identity, social climates and a strong interest in storytelling through fashion and textiles.
