Pettre Taylor brought a thoughtful approach to material and construction to the Lagos Fashion Week 2026 runway with The Middlemen, its Spring/Summer 2027 collection. Under this year’s theme, CRAFTED: Heritage. Innovation. Circular Futures., the Nigerian designer’s work offered an interesting perspective on the role of craftsmanship in contemporary fashion.
The collection explored texture through knitwear, woven fabrics and oversized denim, with layered, frayed and ruched details giving the pieces added dimension. Rather than relying on elaborate embellishment alone, the presentation drew attention to the materials themselves and the ways they could be manipulated to create interesting forms. Pettre Taylor has consistently approached fashion through a lens of slow design, cultural identity and material experimentation, making the collection a fitting contribution to this year’s conversation around craft and the future of African fashion.
