Ankara, though not specifically made in Africa, is associated with African culture and style, and it’s often called African wax print. That’s why it was so special to see a representation of African prints on the Cannes Red Carpet, a festival celebrating movies from all over the world.

Sylvanie looked captivating in a Satin Royal gown, described as ‘romantic, fluid, and light as air,’ with a high slit and dazzling embellishments. Sophie, on the other hand, wore the iconic Grand Super-Wax, known for its ‘crisp, bold, and defined’ character, featuring, a slit, grand long train and fan-like design on the bodice. The Ankara choice for both of them definitely had compelling designs, like a tree, leaves, and even buildings.
